Germany: the digital registration system for drivers isn’t working

As a result, truck drivers coming from Austria or France, who are obliged to register their planned entry into Germany, have to use a paper registration form.

According to the Coronavirus Protection Ordinance, the digital registration on entry (www.einreiseanmeldung.de) is to be filled out by all persons entering the country, who have spent time in the 10 days prior to entry in a risk area or an area associated with particularly high risk (high-incidence area or area of variants of concern) who do not fall under any of the listed exemptions.
According to industry sources, the administrator of the registration website is working on eliminating disruptions and restoring the portal’s functionality. The system may not be available for the next two to three days. During this time, drivers have to use paper registration forms. Anyone without a printed registration form or providing false data in the document can face a fine of up to EUR 25,000.
Paper registration forms (in various languages, including English) are available at https://www.bmvi.de/SharedDocs/DE/Anlage/K/Corona/ersatzmitteilung-einreiseanmeldung.pdf?__blob=publicationFile
